Seek and ye shall find
the wonderful breath of life.
Grasp it, then breathe out.
**
“I found my true love!”
was her response to his eye
she caught on the train.
Though she be brilliant,
she has fallen for the boy
who can’t see the stars.
**
They move to the plains
so that their love may expand,
covering all space,
and at night they lay
sprawled under the sky they share:
she sees, he cannot.
On a peach tree she
sits and waits for her lover.
He never comes back.
Fiery eyes burning
brighter than the August sun.
A lifetime of red.
**
In response, she moves;
away from the city life,
away from the plains.
No longer does she
sprawl watching the bright planets
shift as she once did.
Instead she swims out,
occupying the ocean,
living with water.
Her eyes flutter shut,
the sun seeping through her hair.
She is one with life.
How does one find hope
so easily lost at sea?
“You swim,” she replied.
